Across a large-scale core systems domain, we support the build-out of a generative-AI platform that lifts AI use from individual ingenuity to a capability the organisation can reproduce. Our remit spans two axes: framing the direction of the AI strategy, and designing the “harness” — the cross-cutting layer that ties together guardrails, monitoring, and knowledge integration. We work as an enabler supplying the patterns and evaluation criteria, deliberately leaving ownership with the client.

Outcomes

  • Structured the strategic questions and consolidated the overall roadmap
  • Long-listed the harness components and defined the prioritisation criteria
  • Designed a full set of AI usage guardrails and rolled them out on the ground
  • Designed a monitoring dashboard for AI usage, built around ROI metrics
  • Prepared the review criteria and evaluation framework for handover to the implementation team

Organisation-wide AI adoption through a frontline improvement task force and a cross-functional AI team

Across an entire systems development group, we support both a frontline improvement task force and a cross-functional AI team. We designed the work-inventory interview sheet that captures what members actually do, along with an articulation sheet that prompts teams to describe their work in the terms AI adoption requires. Throughout, we supply frameworks that are easy to fill in, so the people doing the work can articulate and act on it themselves.

Outcomes

  • Designed and refined the work-inventory interview sheet, rebuilding the task classification scheme
  • Set out the criteria for routing findings to frontline improvement or to AI adoption
  • Turned the work-articulation interview sheet into a reusable input–process–output pattern
  • Designed the end-to-end schedule and governance forums from interviews through to initiative planning
  • Provided templates and hands-on support so the teams themselves stay in the lead

Process transformation with AI as the premise

We joined a programme redesigning three value chains — engineering, costing, and supply chain management — with AI as the premise, aiming to achieve front-loading and QCD improvement at once. Our remit covers the integrated picture across all three chains and the overall architecture for the AI initiatives.

Hands-on support for a generative-AI contact centre modernisation programme

We joined as the agile delivery specialist on a programme building a model case for a next-generation customer engagement platform, running from proof of concept through MVP development on generative AI. The initiative targets shorter after-call work through automatic summarisation and transcription, and more consistent service quality through agent-assist features; our remit covers the agile approach and the team's operating processes. We also frame the issues and build consensus among stakeholders, and advise management on team structure and evaluation metrics.

Outcomes

  • Set the agile approach and established the team's operating processes as a repeatable pattern
  • Supported prioritisation of the product backlog and the release plan
  • Framed the open questions across stakeholders and drove them to agreement

PGMO / PMO support for a core systems replacement programme

We ran the PMO / PGMO function through the requirements phase of a company-wide transformation: modernising a legacy core system through ground-up development, with business process reengineering alongside it. In a multi-vendor setup where several systems integrators, an accounting package, and peripheral system vendors worked in parallel, we consolidated scope, structure, schedule, and risk, and drew the lines of responsibility between vendors. We also redesigned the governance forums into a milestone-driven cycle tied to the monthly board meeting.

Outcomes

  • Designed a lightweight PMO operating model wired directly into the executive decision cycle
  • Surfaced issues and pulled decisions forward by putting draft proposals on the table early
  • Framed the integration approach for the external accounting interfaces and supported the decision
  • Cut the risk of rework by keeping a running record of decisions

Requirements definition for a knowledge AI product

Upstream Consultant / Requirements Lead

Facing the steady loss of veteran expertise on the front line, this project builds a RAG-based knowledge retrieval system — and we led the requirements definition end to end. That covered running the forums with the end client, designing, conducting, and analysing frontline interviews, defining scope, designing the operating model for producing training data, and building the storyline for steering committee reporting. We also put together a requirements framework for rolling the approach out to further engagements.

Outcomes

  • Raised the quality of requirements definition and established the delivery structure
  • Organised the structure of the underlying problems through interviews
  • Locked scope and secured agreement at the interim report
  • Built a requirements framework for subsequent rollouts

Proof of concept for applying AI to PM/PMO work

We drove the concept work and proof of concept for applying AI to PM/PMO activities on a large-scale systems development programme. Interviews with the PMO pinned down the underlying processes, from which we defined the AI use cases. We then designed and validated a workflow and prompt set for each use case, and put in place the PoC approach document, the evaluation criteria, and the go/no-go decision framework.

Outcomes

  • Completed the design of use cases and prompts
  • Produced the PoC approach document and full set of evaluation criteria
  • Identified and prioritised the target business processes
  • Introduced an AI first-pass review step

Proposal support for a data integration platform
